Spreadsheet replacement · Web apps

Replace the spreadsheet your business runs on with a proper web app

Spreadsheets are brilliant until the business depends on one. We turn the sheet everyone is afraid to touch into a secure web app your whole team can use at once — with your existing data moved across, and nothing lost on the way.

Sound familiar?

Five signs the spreadsheet has become the business

A spreadsheet starts as a quick way to track something. A few years later it has a dozen tabs, three people’s formulas and a copy on every laptop — and the business can’t run without it.

What you get instead

Everything the spreadsheet did, without the fragile parts

One live version

Everyone works in the same system at the same time, from any browser. No copies, no “final v7”, no emailing files around.

Permissions & an audit log

People see and change only what they should, and every change is recorded with who made it and when.

Forms, not cells

Data goes in through simple forms that work on a phone, with the checks built in — so a typo can’t break a total.

Live dashboards

The numbers you used to build by hand each month are always there and always current, with a drill-down to the line behind each one.

Rules that run themselves

Reminders, status changes and calculations happen automatically instead of relying on someone remembering.

Your data, moved across

We import the history from your existing sheets and check the totals match before you switch over.

How it works

From spreadsheet to system, one fixed-price phase at a time

  1. 1

    Free chat

You show us the spreadsheet and what goes wrong with it. We tell you whether it needs replacing, or whether a few fixes would do.

  2. 2

    Map it

We work through every tab, formula and workaround with the people who use it, so nothing the sheet quietly does gets forgotten.

  3. 3

    Build in phases

Each phase has a fixed price and is signed off before the next begins. You see working software early, not at the end.

  4. 4

    Switch over

Your data is imported and checked, the team is shown round, and the old sheet is kept as a read-only archive.

Spreadsheets we’ve replaced

Frequently asked questions

Should we replace our spreadsheet at all?

Not always. If one person uses it, it rarely changes and nothing depends on it being right, a spreadsheet is the correct tool. It’s worth replacing when several people need it at once, when mistakes cost money, or when you can’t see what’s happening without rebuilding a report. Our free scorecard gives you a quick read on which side of the line you’re on.

Can you import our existing data?

Yes. Moving the history across is part of the job, and we reconcile the totals against the original sheet before you switch.

Can we still export to Excel?

Yes. We build in exports to Excel for the lists and reports you need, so your accountant and anyone else who prefers a spreadsheet can still have one.

How much does it cost to replace a spreadsheet?

It depends on how much the sheet does. After a free chat we give you a fixed quote, split into phases you sign off one at a time. For common jobs we also have fixed-price tools, starting at £1,499 to set up.

How long does it take?

A single well-understood spreadsheet can usually be replaced in a matter of weeks. Larger sets of linked sheets are delivered in phases, so the most painful part is replaced first.

Which spreadsheet keeps you up at night?

Send us a description of the sheet, or the sheet itself with the sensitive parts removed. We’ll tell you honestly whether it needs replacing or just tidying. We reply within one working day.
