Software for rail engineering companies that keeps the work and the paperwork together

We build bespoke operations systems for rail engineering and maintenance companies — crew scheduling, competencies, safe systems of work, calibration and ISO registers in one place, used from the office, the depot and trackside.

Sound familiar?

Rail work is planned in one place and evidenced in five others

A rail engineering business has to know who is doing what, whether they’re competent to do it, and that the right safety documents were issued and read. In most companies those answers live in separate portals, spreadsheets and folders.

What we build

One operations system, from the plan to the audit

Crew scheduler

A weekly planner by depot. A job is written once and people are put on it; it appears on each of their days, and the week is released to the crews when it’s ready.

People & competencies

Each person’s competencies sit beside their name on the plan, with expiry dates tracked, so the right people go on the right work.

Health & safety

Risk assessments, method statements, safe systems of work and COSHH, with incidents, briefings and a record of who has signed what.

Reports from the job

Job sheets checked in the office, plus stoppage, storage and concession reports raised against the work they relate to.

Compliance registers

Calibration, vehicle checks, building compliance and provider insurance, each with next-due dates and certificates attached.

Company health

One screen showing what has expired and what’s due in the next 90 days across every register.

Weekly operations scheduler, Saturday to Friday, with fitters grouped by depot, their competencies listed under each name, and job cards on each day marked planned, confirmed, in progress or done

Company health dashboard with expired items, open non-conformances, overdue audits and expenses to approve, above a table of every register showing expired, due soon and total

Frequently asked questions

Can it replace the portals we already use?

Usually, in stages. We move the registers and reports across one module at a time, so the old portal keeps running until its replacement is signed off.

Does it check competencies when someone is put on a job?

Each person’s competencies and their expiry dates are shown where the plan is made, so the planner can see at a glance who is in date for the work.

Will it work trackside and in the depot?

Yes. It’s a responsive web app, so it runs in the browser on a phone, tablet or desktop with nothing to install.

Can it support our ISO audits?

The registers, document sign-offs and the audit log of every change are kept in one place, which is what an auditor asks to see. We build the registers around the management system you already hold certification for.

How is a rail system priced?

On complexity, with a fixed quote after a free discovery call. The work is delivered in phases, each with its own price, signed off before the next begins.

How do you plan the week and prove it was done safely?

Tell us how you schedule crews, track competencies and manage safety documents today. We’ll talk through what one joined-up system could look like. We reply within one working day.
